Skydive Chicago Hosts US Nationals

OmniSkore! coverage of the 2007 US Nationals.
Omnibits by Jan Meyer

Sept. 11 at 7 am

The skies look very marginal. The winds are expected to pick up this afternoon too.

8 AM
They just gave a call for the 8-way teams.
But previously, this guy was relaxing in the hanger.

Craig Girard was wondering why Skydive Chicago gave the competitors sweatshirts in the middle of summer. Now he knows. The temps are much cooler than yesterday.

10:30 am
The style loads have been grounded because the winds are too high. The angle for the ground to air camera is too awkward. The spot is too far away and it is much harder to track the jumpers, as compared to almost overhead.

11 am
The race is heating up in intermediate 8-way. Carolina Black Ice and SPX8 are tied after 5 rounds.

High Noon
Those high winds are here and everyone is huddling on the ground. More standby to standby.

1 pm
Some photos have been added to the S&A pages as well as the judges' page.
