Skydive Chicago Hosts US Nationals

OmniSkore! coverage of the 2007 US Nationals.
Omnibits by Jan Meyer

Saturday September 15, 2007
It is a chilly 36 degrees this morning.

6:30 am
CF 2-way will go first today. The competitors asked for the change because of the cold.

8:30 am
Freefly is jumping and round 1 is almost finished being judged.
CF is waiting until 9:30 to jump because of the cold.
Accuracy is finished and I am awaiting scores.
It is still brisk outside.

9 am
S&A scores are up and the awards ceremony will be in a few minutes.

Noon
After one round of CF 2-way, FSC-2 leads with 11 points. Age and Treachery and Stuck in Lodi are tied, one point behind FSC-2. Clean Air and Impaired are also tied with 9 points.
Banshees got a zero because of a cutaway.

1 pm
Spaceland Anomaly has a 2 point lead over Skydive Chicago. SDC is a guest team and won't be able to medal. The real 2nd place team is Groovalicious. Soltise is 3rd.

3 pm
All of Freefly has been jumped. The judges are judging. It takes much longer for AE dives than FS or CF. Freestyle is some place in round 6.

4 pm
Scores for AE are posted through round 4. CF 2-way is posted through round 3. FSC-2 has extended its lead over Clean Air and Stuck in Lodi to 6 points. Age and Treachery follows by 1 point.

5 pm
Ohhhh - this hurts. Clean Air just got 8 points busted down to 1. There reason was that mirror images are not allowed in 2-way CF. They were tied for second place. Stuck in Lodi posted a 10 in round 4 to put them one point ahead of Clean Air. The throw away round for Clean Air becomes the 1 point round. Clean Air has 30 and Stuck in Lodi has 31.

6 pm
Round 5 CF 2-way: FSC-2 posts a 14, Clean Air posts a 13, Stuck in Lodi posted a 10. That means Clean Air moves back into 2nd place.
CF 2-way stopped at 7 rounds today.
All AE events got their jumps in, but the judging will carry over until tommorrow.
vRW briefing tonight at 7:30. At last count there were 7 teams total.

Spaceland Anomaly just did a tremendously great compulsorary round 5. It was 17 raw points that will convert to 8.6. Way to go. That video should get up on the site today or tommorrow.

7:30 pm
CF 2-way will be judged only to the 6th round tonight. Look out tommorrow for Round 7 for FSC-2. It might be a world record.
Also that 17 by Spaceland Anomaly was a world record.
We have to bail out of here right now. More tommorrow.
