2006 Valentine's Money Meet

***RESULTS ARE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE***
0630 Saturday

*YAWN* The webmaestro has rolled out of the sack and is headed for the DZ shortly with laptop and camera in tow. A peak outside shows -- what's this? Clouds? We haven't had rain here in over 4 months. Forecast says partly to mostly cloudy, cool and breezy. I'll be back shortly...

Here is your other important link for this weekend: http://skyleague.com. Kurt is here too to cover the meet! Here is you quick link to the latest scores: http://skyleague.com/pages/scores/index.php

A brief walkabout with the camera and it looks like the new Fastrax 2006 lineup is going to be great fun to watch. I spy Mark Kirkby and Doug Park in there. First round scores are posting soon...there to the left are judges Barry, Al, and MaryBeth, dub mistress Amy, and Mr. Skyleague himself, Kurt at work on his laptop...Airspeed Odyssey has the early lead with a 34, two better than Fastrax and three up on Airspeed Velocity...

...here are the results tables from the scoring system; please note that the links to the team pages won't work this weekend, and the links to the scoring summaries won't work until the end of the day...UPDATE: scoring summaries are being updated each round...

...the skies have turned sunny and gorgeous, it's perfect skydiving out there...

The meet is motoring right along and round 2 is in the bag. All the teams look like they're having fun and putting up some good scores. Some clouds are threatening to slow things down, but I doubt they will...I just got Kurt hooked up with a video feed from the DZTV output on the scoring processor to his laptop, so check out his site later for some video...

1200
Eliana Rodriguez still has the most dazzling smile in competition skydiving...and she's not a bad skydiver either, from what I hear ;-)...we're almost done with round 3...the overall skydiving quality appears to be very high for so early in the season...I ran into a couple of the Golden Knights a few minutes ago; they explained that their new team is no where near ready for competition...also the Knights overall are short-handed because of the war... as usual, there is a very large and enthusiastic wuffo presence here at Skydive Arizona...

1400
Airspeed Velocity positively spanked round 4, drawing a good round of applause from the DZTV viewing area, and they pull ahead of Fastrax for 2nd place...

...I'm swapping old war GK stories with GK Brian Krause...we have herrs Gaebel, Wagner and Krause here gabbing it up...where's the (German) beer...

1500
Round five is almost done...bipole > bipole out the door is always loads of fun...

1630
Coming down the home stretch here. It doesn't look like there will be 8-way tomorrow for lack of enough teams (I think there are two right now). Okay...it's a wrap now, and Airspeed Odyssey has put in a solid six rounds to start their season out on a winning note. Velocity looked good too, and it's going to be veeeeeeeeery interesting to see how Fastrax 2006 looks by the time nationals rolls around -- right here at Skydive Arizona in October. See you there! - Tim "T2" Wagner
