(Roy) Good morning everybody!! Today's schedule: CF 4-Way Sequential
starts at 0630, FS 8-Way starts at 0800, CF 4-Way Rots starts at 0900,
FS 4-Way (Open and Women's) starts at 1100, and CF 2-Way Sequential
starts at 1200. The meet director expects to complete the competition in
all events today. We have been unable to get 307 Perris Synchronicity
to sit still long enough to get a team picture, so we have plugged in
their photo from this year's U.S. Nationals to use until we can get a
picture taken here.
0750
Someone just held reveille in the CF Judge's fishbowl, so we should have
some CF 4-Way Sequential results coming soon. Keep hitting Refresh on
the CF Sequential page.
0825
Judging of CF 4-Way Sequential Round 7 has been completed. France
continues to hold a 5-point lead over Russian Wolves, and the latter
leads Redline CRW by 4 points.
0840
(LizBits) Good morning everyone. 8-way has officially started.
Deguello have just landed.
Arnaud would like to apologise for not giving an interview yesterday,
but he said he slept in. It was a good thing he did, coz when he
saw me last night he was unaware that 4-way was starting at 11am and not
midday! He owes a beer or two.
I've been taking more photos today so will be posting them a soon as
I can.
Deguello and Italy have completed Round 9. Next up are the
Russians and the French.
Photo Page
Here come the French.... They are looking good and picking up
the pace on each point. So far it is nice and clean. A
possible 18. They got it!
Watching Airspeed at the moment from the ground to air vid.
They are looking hot, well from down here anyway!
Russian vid is on. 2 team members gimping the camera on climb
out this time! They are having fuuuun.
This is it - Airspeed's 9th round. It's just too exciting. OMG - a
16????? There is 1 point between them now.
0930
(Roy) The final round of CF 4-Way Sequential is now being judged. Pound
Refresh on the CF Sequential page.
0950
(Roy) The final results -- pending the expiration of the protest window
-- are: France wins gold with 74, Russian Wolves gets silver at 67, and
Redline CRW takes home the bronze with 65.
1020
(Roy) We are waiting some activity from the judging stations, but at the
moment nothing is going on. FS 8-Way is in the air, so there should be
some judging activity soon.
1040
(Roy) CF 4-Way Rotations is in the air, so we should be seeing some
scores from them soon. In FS 8-Way, the judges are waiting until they
have the tapes for all five jumps before the begin to judge the final
round.
1045
(LizBits) I will be back - am going to take photos and watch the final
round (as we know it) being judged in the hangar. Roy will be
updating the score sheet. I can hardly type it's so exciting!!!!!
(Roy) Deguello gets a 9. Next is Italy Ex3mo, and they get a 13. Now
comes R.T. Evolution. They score 17. Now Lapalisse Maubeuge gets 19 to
put the heat on Airspeed. Airspeed follows with 21 and the crowd
erupts!!! The judges are reviewing; will it stand? YES IT DOES!!!
Pending any protests, Airspeed wins gold with 205, Lapalisse Maubeuge
takes the silver with 202, and R.T. Evolution Pro claims the bronze at
164. It was a great final round. Airspeed turned in a very impressive
jump. Kurt Gaebel, sitting to my left, could hardly contain his
excitement.
Judging of CF 4-Way Rotations Round 7 has now started. Scores are
being posted to the CF Rotations page.
1105
(LizBits) Phew (wiping brow), unoffically Airspeed are the World Cup
Champs for 8-way. The atmosphere in the hangar during the judging
of the Maubuege and Airspeed Rounds was tense and you could hear a pin
drop. Maubeuge got a 19 and so it meant that an 18 for Airspeed
meant a jump off and a 19 a win. Clock is ticking, points are
turning.... 16, 17, 18 aaaaand 19 - YAY!!! We didn't keep on
watching the rest of the round!!!! As Amy says - "not bad for a
bunch of POPS".
Unless any protests are submitted within the next 2 hours, then
Airspeed will have won by 3 points and holding their highest average
ever.
Check in later for photos, oh and 4-way is starting very soon.
1115
(Roy) The judges score two jumps in CF 4-Way Rotations and then
stopped. So if you are hitting Refresh on the CF Rotations page, you can
take a break. We'll let you know when they start again.
1120
(Roy) Judging or Rots has resumed. You can start hitting Refresh in
CF Rotations again.
1135
(Roy) The judging of Rots Round 7 is complete. Russian Wolves holds
first place with 139. Romme Rotation is 13 back with 126, and XMAO holds
third, just 1 back with 125. It should be an exciting finish for second
place.
1140
(Roy) FS 4-Way Women's teams are landing, so we should have some
scores for their Round 7 before long.
Here comes some scores. Get ready to hit Refresh in the 4-Way FS-W
page. Synchronicity gains a little ground and, with 148, now leads
Maubeuge by 3. Lady Birds is in third place with 137.
1200
(LizBits) Things are hotting up in the Ladies' class. There could
well be a jump off yet. They haven't taken off for Round 10 yet,
so it will be a while before getting the final scores of Round 10.
There will be another cut after Round 9 - the top 6 teams will go
through to Round 10.
Everyone is taking a little break before the judging of the 4-way
open Round 9.
1215
Here we go with FS 4-Way. There has been a cut to the top ten teams
for this round.
1315
(LizBits) Things have been hectic here. The Ladies are up for
their Round 10.
NEWSFLASH - Airspeed got their Round 9 re-judged and they were
awarded one more point! Their lead is now 8. Fire got busted
twice in their 9th round, scoring a 15. The Black Cats did a clean
round posting a 15. There is one point between both Fire and the
Black Cats so they are effectively battling it out for 2nd place,
unless, touch wood, nothing horrific happens to Airspeed on Round 10.
1325
(Roy) CF 4-Way Rotations is now complete. The final standings (pending
expiration of the protest window) find Russian Wolves the winner at 158,
Romme Rotation is second with 145, and XMAO is third with 143.
Congratulations to all you folks!!! Job well done.
(LizBits) Things are on hold here for about 15 mins due to air
space clearance.
1420
Some people are wondering why they get incorrect results when they click
on the links in the CF 2-Way Results Table, so I'll repeat the caveat
from Tuesday's Tidbits:
The CF 2-Way Sequential event is a new event. That is the good
news. The bad news, from an OmniSkore! standpoint, is that OmniSkore!
had no room for a new event, and we had to do some artificial
manipulating to shoehorn it in. That is why, when you look at the CF
2-Way results table, you will see one team number in the ID column and
another as the preface to the Team Name. The official team number from
the meet's point of view is the preface to the Team Name, but
OmniSkore! must use the pseudo number in the ID column.
For this reason, the links in the Results Table
that should lead to each team's page WILL
NOT WORK at this time. You will either
get an Object Not Found error, or you will get a team page for a 4-Way
Sequential team. This will be fixed when the event is
completed, but until then there is nothing we can do but live with it.
Since the scoring summaries are accessed from a link in the team page,
a team's scoring summary cannot be accessed until after the event is
completed and we can fix the links in the Results Table. Please bear
with us; we will get it working as soon as we can.
1440
(Roy) We had a computer crash and we had to leave for a while, but we
are back now. FS 4-Way Women's is being judged. Results are available at
4-Way W. 1455
Pending expiration of the protest window, we have final standing in the
FS 4-Way Women's event. Perris Synchronicity is the winner with 167,
Maubeuge is second with 165, and Lady Birds is third with 154. It was a
close race, and congratulations to the winners. FS 4-Way is now being
judged. Deland Fire got a 26 and Black Cat a 25 to tie for second at
212. Jump off!!! Airspeed has the gold locked up with a 24 for 222 total
1515
Round 7, the penultimate round, of CF 2-Way Sequential is now being
judged. 1530
(LizBits) Please note that the following places are NOT official
until 2 hours after posting.
The 4-way Women's was just as tense as the 8-way.Airkix pulled
it out the bag and posted a 19 - very nice - which puts them in 4th
place. Lady Birds scored a 17 to retain 3rd place. Maubeuge
ripped it up wtih a 20 which was not enough to take the Gold from
Synchronicity, who scored a 19. Again, it was one of those breath
holding moments during the Synchronicity video! We also have an
updated photo of Synchronicity.
There was a bit of a break before the judging of the 4-way open. Fire
posted the highest score overall on Round 10 with a 26 and the Black
Cats scored 25, so they are currently in the plane to do a jump off for
2nd place. Wow! (the Black Cats are currently furiously dirt
diving outside in preparation). Airspeed scored 24 and retained
their first place. Eliana Rodriguez - hats off to her for becoming
the first female to win Gold in 8-way FS and 4-way Open FS at the same
time in a World Cup. Eliana said she would be more than happy to
be interviewed. We'll let you know the outcome of the jump off as soon
as we know! CF - there are 6 more teams to go for 2-way sequential and
then the competition is over, sob, sob. 1615
(LizBits) Black Cat's jump off round is being judged as we speak.
Will it be a 25? Higher? Lower? A 26!!!!!!! The
applause from the hangar is massive.
Waiting for Fire now. Kurt (NSL) and I are trying to predict
their score. Here they go. If you could hear the applause -
it's even bigger than Black Cat's....
I'm just posting the last of the photos on the photo page. Fire
posted a 29 and have taken 2nd place! How close it all was.
1640
(Roy) The judging of the final round of CF 2-Way Sequential will begin a
few minutes. The results will be posted to the CD 2-Way page when the
round is complete (six jumps). 1650
(Roy) They are now judging the final round of CF 2-Way Sequential. I
should the result so post to the CF 2-Way Results Table soon. 1700
(Roy) The CF 2-Way Sequential Results Table has been updated. BBC has
first place with 81, France 1 has second with 77, and Russian Wolves is
third with 72. The links will be fixed as soon as we can get to it, but
that could be as late as tomorrow morning. 1930
(Roy) The broken links in the CF 2-Way Sequential Results Table have
been fixed. Some of the team pages, however, may have a wrong photo. If
so, please notify
