(Roy) Good morning belly floppers, crew dawgs, and lawn darters everywhere! The sun popped over the horizon a few minutes ago. Gila monsters, sidewinders, scorpions, and other desert critters are stirring and preparing to lurk in hiding for any unwary skydivers who have the misfortune to land out. Just another day in the life of the world's finest drop zone.

Today's plan of action has CF 4-Way Sequential up first at 0630. They will be followed by FS 8-Way, then CF 4-Way Rotations, then FS 4-Way, and finally by CF 2-Way Sequential. I think the Artistic Events have the day off, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.

0630
(Roy) I just got a clarification on the schedule for the AE events. They will begin at 0800.

The CF judges finished judging Round 4 of 2-Way Sequential and those results have been posted to the results page. BBC has a one-point lead over France 1, who has a four-point lead over Russian Wolves.

Further to today's plan, it is expected that the AE events will finish today. The CF and FS events will each do two rounds today and then will finish the competition tomorrow. The awards ceremonies for all events will be held at the banquet Saturday night here in the competition hanger.

0800
(Roy) We have gotten all the team photos taken and posted, except for eight teams. We will try to catch them before they board for their next round. We expect that we have mis-identified some of the team photos, so when you look at team pages, please be sure to tell us about our mistakes so we can correct them.

Here is Amy Chmelecki's AE Update for today:

Day two of the 2005 world cup ran so smooth; you could hardly tell there was a world championship going on. The event has all the excitement of “the French verses the USA” and “Japan verses Finland”, with out the stress of “no that’s not your plane!” or “the judges can’t finish scoring round two until your finished with all your rounds!” Competitors have the opportunity to compete, relax and enjoy the competition. Things are going very well thanks to many people and the hard work they put in prior to and during this event. The aircraft are turning quickly and smoothly thanks to the meticulous preplanning of meet director Bryan Burke, as well as his calm attitude during potentially stressful situations. The judges are happy and well taken care of thanks to the selfless hours of work put in by DZ manager Betsy Barnhouse. The Drop Zone is handling the volume of jumps gracefully and efficiently thanks to the lifelong commitment of DZO Larry and Lillian Hill to their beautiful home, Skydive Arizona. Not to mention all the manifesters, pilots, judges, packers, Omni Skore, helpers and the awesome international team of world class competitors. All artistic events completed three rounds today. They are all starting Wednesday morning with round six. With two free rounds left it has become apparent who will most likely place. Of course, anything can happen between now and the close of the competition, however, currently there are three top teams in each discipline. Freefly is the tightest competition of all the artistic disciplines. The first, second and third place teams are neck and neck. Babylon is in the lead with a total score of 42.9. Guano Freefly is in second with a total score or 42.3 and French team Jok’air is closely behind with a score of 42. All the teams are flying with incredible skill and precision. It is the worlds best doing their best. The skydives being made this week are part of the evolution of this sport. It is a joy to watch and learn from them. The Sky Surf routines are breath taking. The control of the performers and the framing of the camera flyers are teamwork at it best. The three teams competing here are all veteran competitors. Their experience and talent gives the viewer the illusion that Sky Surf is easy. Russian Sky Surf team Vo3dyx (A.K.A. air) is enjoying the competition regardless of the lack a competitors. In broken English he said he is looking forward to doing big ways with everyone after the close of the artistic events. Vo3dyx is in the lead with 42.9 points. The Artistic Events should be finished on Wednesday. Then the party, followed by a morning of rest, followed be all the worlds best jumping and flying in the tunnel together. It’s going to be a good time.

(Roy) Thank you, Amy, for your terrific contributions to the Tidits coverage of the World Cup!

(T2) Hey guys - great work - I want to duck in and say that those of you inquiring about posting videos of jumps, LizBits and Roy don't have that capability there. Please be sure to check out Kurt's excellent reporting over at NSL. On with the show!

0815
(LizBits) Good morning everyone and what a great morning it is!  8-way teams are here dirt diving and preparing for take off around 0830.

0825
Round 5 of CF 4-Way Sequential is being judged as we speak, and scores are being posted to the results page as they come in.

0830
(Roy) CF 4-Way Sequential Round 5 is in the can, and the results page has been updated. France holds a lead of 3 over Russian Wolves, which leads Redline CRW by 5.

(LizBits)  Take off for 8-way has been pushed back a little, but keep checking in for the latest action.  With only 2 rounds taking place for the FS competitors, it will give all the teams to take a bit of a well earned rest.  I can only imagine the mental intensity that they are all going through.

Deguello and Italy Ex3mo are now on a 10 minute call.  Currently watching Deguello on the ground to air camera and they looked good.  Roy just gave me the heads up on what Deguello (Dee-gwa-yo) means.  It was the name of the dirge that was played by the Mexicans continuously  to the Texans during the siege of the Alamo.  The Italians have landed so that means that the Russians and the French will be exiting soon.

0940
(Roy) CF 4-Way Sequential has completed Round 6. France has increased their lead to 5 over Russian Wolves, and they hold a lead of 4 over Redline CRW.

0945
(LizBits)  FS 8-Way. Maugbeuge 8 -way we are awaiting the judges' confirmation of a 22.  They looked sweet. They got it.  What will Airspeed do?  The Russians will probably be judged before the US, so we will have to be patient yet.

The Italians had a good round, but unfortunately their camera guy had a bit of an issue on exit.  They executed the most perfect 22.

The Russians look to have scored a 19 - just.

Airspeed have landed.  Judges still deliberating over the Russians....  They've just been awarded a 20.

Freefly news -Jok'air  have inched ahead of Guano after their 6th round by 0.1 Results have been updated..

Will must have stopped off for a cup of tea and a chat, as there is still no sign of him and his footage of Airspeed's round.....  Yay, here we go, um, maybe not -aagh there is a problem with the video feed into the scoring process.  Everything's fine - just going through a Window's re-boot on the dubbing computer.  Ok, we think a 23.

Skysurf - Russia are leading over the French after Round 6.  Female - well, do I really need to say who is winning!!!  Blandine is doing some lovely flying on her board.  Updating scores now on the web.

Airspeed scored a 23.

1035
(Roy) FS 8-Way Round 8 is now judging. First up is Deguello. They get 11. Now comes Italy. The judges give them 16.

CF 4-Way Rotations Round 5 is also being judged.  France gets 17. Now Sibirsky Legion, then earn 20. There has been no further judging of FS 8-Way.

Women's Freestyle has finished Round 6. AXIS21 is in first place with 50.5. HeKla has second place at 47.3, and Team Italia is third at 44.1.

In FS 8-Way, R.T. Evolution Pro is now being judged. They get 15.

(LizBits)  Here are the French.  Looking lovely - clean, fast - oops, typed too soon one little glitch, but back on track now. 21 subject to confirmation - and it is a 21.

One of the Russian's was cute on climb out -  leaned over and gave a kiss to Elena (the camera woman), well as much as you can through a helmet lens!.

1125
(LizBits) Airspeed are off!  Bit of a glitch as well, but don't seem to have suffered too much from it.  21?????  Exactly the same score as the French!  It looks like it could go right to the line.

Freestyle Men's 6th round scores have been posted.  France is still leading with the USA in 2nd and Japan in 3rd.

CF 4-way sequential is now done for the day and there is one more round in Rotations to go.  CF 2-way sequential has two more rounds to do.

8-way FS is finished for the day.  What an exciting way to finish the day for 8-way with the gap between the two top teams diminishing.

4-way Women's and Open are due to have their 15 min call for the first teams at Midday.

Be back around then!

1200
(LizBits) The last round of the Artistic Events is in progress.  Jok'air are just about to get judged, so the final results should be available soon.  Hearing the huge round of applause from the hangar, I take it they did a good jump.

1220
(Roy) The first event to complete for the meet is Freefly. Taking the gold is Babylon with 61.5. Jok'air get the silver with 60.3, and Guano Freefly with 59.9 takes home the bronze. Congratulations big-time from OmniSkore! to all of them!!

1240
(LizBits)  Skysurf is completed.  France take home the Gold in the Women's class, although Bandine's final score at 53.9 was only 2.2 behind her countryman competing in the Men's class.  Ru Vo3dyx won gold in the Men's class with a score of 61 and France came 2nd with a final score of 55.7.  Congratulations to all the Skysurfers.

The Women's FS has started and Alfa-Fox (UKR) posted the same as Las Chicas (ESP) with a 9. The Lady Birds have scored an 11 and Fastrax Select will be hoping that the judges award them a 13. Airkix are being judged and it could be a 12. No, they've been awarded a 13 - nice!  Maubeuge have just flown an awesome round, a possible 15.  Synchronicity got 13.  So, after Round 7 for the ladies it is Synchronicity, Maubeuge and Lady Birds.

1345
(Roy) Freestyle Women have finished the meet. AXIS21, at 59.7, will wear the gold, HeKla, at 56.1, will display the silver, and Team Italia, at 52.3, will show the bronze. A hearty congratulations to you all!!

(LizBits) We've been posting the scores from the FS 4-Way as soon as we get them.  The Black Cats have just flown the nicest round yet with a 19.  The way they flew their blocks were pretty close to perfect.

Airspeed are up now . Was completely riveted to the screen watching them as I was during Black Cat's round.

Fire just posted a 16.  Round  7 is now complete for the FS 4-Way open.  Some teams only have 1 jump left and then they are released from the competition, since the teams are cut to the top ten after Round 8.

1400
(Roy) We have now posted all team photos for everyone except Team 307, Perris Synchronicity. Their coach, Dan B-C, is keeping them shielded from all outside influences, but they have promised to pose for use when they can. Again, please let us know of any that we have mis-labeled.

1410
(Roy) Freestyle Men have now finished the met. Team France wins gold with 57, Almost Nearly Normal takes silver at 47.4, and AXIS21 gets the bronze with 40.3. Congratulations all!!

The Artistic Events have now completed the meet. OmniSkore! praises the AE judges for the excellent cooperation in supplying the results to use so we could post them on the web page. We have gotten them more quickly here than at any meet I can remember.

1420
(LizBits)  Women's Round 8 is in progress.  Airkix have posted a 12 and the Lady Birds got 2 busts making their score a 12 as well.  Select got exactly the same as the Lady Birds by also busting 2 points.  I'm looking foward to watching Maubeuge's round and see what score they can pull out of the bag, especially after the way they were flying on Round 7.

Synchronicity got busted as well, but only once, so they score 13.  Will Maubeuge fly a clean, fast round?

1440
(Roy) FS 4-Way Women have finished Round 8. Synchronicity leads at 133, Maubeuge turned a beautiful jump -- they got 16 and a huge round of applause from the viewers in the hanger -- and closed the gap to 2; they have 131. Lady Birds is third with 124.

(LizBits) Wow, Maubuege!!!!

Apologies, I was getting pretty carried away before in the Open and mistakenly made a typo on block numbers - have corrected what I said so please don't send me any "you are such a Doris" e-mails.  I thought something wasn't adding up at the time along the lines of "I don't recall doing those blocks like that..."

Apologies out of the way.  The top 10 teams all go through to Round 9 tomorrow.  A huge Congrats to the Brazilian team for attaining their goal of a 13 point average

1520
(LizBits)  Bummer, there was a problem with the video reception during Black Cat's Round 8, so didn't see any of it.  They did score an 18 though. 2 more teams to go - Airspeed and Fire.

Airspeed have just landed in their landing formation.  The whole hangar is on tenterhooks to see both Airspeed and Fire's rounds.  Will Fire pull ahead of the Black Cats and close in on Airspeed? Will Airspeed further their lead or not?  Hopefully the camera men will make haste over here....

While we are waiting, I would like to say a HUGE CONGRATS to the British Army 4-way, Optimum CTR (BRA), South Parc (GBR), 4-Motion (GBR) and Magic 4 (LIT) for completing their first World Meet.  I daresay there will be a lot of celebrating amongst those teams, especially Lithuania as it is Zydrunaz's birthday today.

1535
(LizBits) Still waiting...OK, here we have it.  Airspeed are being judged.  It's an 18!!!  Fire have scored a....

19.

That's Round 8 done and dusted.  Tomorrow is going to be incredible.  I can't wait, he, he.  So, Airspeed leads with 180, Black Cat 2nd with 172 and Fire one point behind in 3rd with 171.

1605
(Roy) We've had a lull here for a while, but CF 2-Way Sequential Round 5 is now being judged. Six teams remain to be judged, so we should have the results of that round before too long. Okay, it's now 1635, and the round is finished. BBC has the lead with 49, France 1 is second with 47, and Russian Wolves is third with 43. Round 6 is now being judged.

1735
(Roy) And Round 6 of CF 2-Way Sequential is done. BBC, with 59, holds their two-point lead over France 1, who is at 57. Russian Wolves remains 4 behind France 1 with 53.

All of today's competition has now been judged and the scores posted. And with that, I'll bid you all a good, goodnight from Eloy, Arizona, USA.

1925
(LizBits) Have uploaded some more photos that were taken before and after sunset. Click here to view them.

Did you know that Chris and Scott from Guano Freefly have been the only team to have competed in Freefly at the US Nationals since it was first introduced in 2000...  Cockatoo was telling me that they all hope to join up with Jok'Air and Babylon tomorrow and do a fun jump.  That is pretty awesome and shows great sportsmanship.

Enough rabbiting. Time to go home now!
