09.18.04 - 8:14 AM I would say good morning but I'd be lying.....They posted the REJUDGED round 2 last night around 10 pm or so. I'm just going to post the "new" bust sheet and the new results and standings......take a peak......

So if you are wondering if you are reading this correctly.....yes you are. Everything has now changed......Anomaly (USA 2) who was in 2nd place....has now been bumped to 4th. Not only that but they originally had 3 busts on Round 2 the first time it was judged......this time they have 4 busts......but here is the kicker.....only 1 of the original busts stands......and THREE new ones have been called. WHAT?!?!?! How can this be? How could 2 panels of judges be so off from each other! (Insert personal opinion here) This is how you loose faith in judging........ Sorry...but I had to say it.....this is just not right. We will see what happens....right now, I believe there are about 3 different protests to be submitted questioning the rejudging...... Once we know I'll repost...... 1:14 PM So here is what has happened this morning....been a bit busy.....First the German's filed a protest that had support from the US, Austrailia, Brazil, Russia and I believe Austria. Don't quote me on that. We found out that it was denied fairly quickly. Brazil followed with thier own...also denied. Then the US and Austrialia teamed up and filed one which was not denied but it was also not accepted. So they are currently working on it. So that is a good thing.....I hope..... 2:44 PM Well here is the US & Austrailian Protest.....

We sat in front of the jury for about 45 minutes.....argued our case to have the original round 2 reinstated. Our main point was how could a judging panel perform their job to observe and score a round if they could not see the jump? Meaning, if they did not object to the quality of video which they were reviewing in the first place....then the original score should stand. After all, they could not provide a score if they could not view the dive, yet they did provide a score for all of the teams for that round. I think that's a fairly valid point, especially when the sporting code does NOT specify what level of quality needs to be provided to the judges to perform their duties....it simply states that the organizers of the event need to provide the judging panel with the necessary video equipment to observe and score the rounds. And this is what they had. (Yes....omniskore is my own personal soap box.....so what!) But you can see the frustration here. Especially after reading this:

What I find very interesting is how the jury just danced around our issues. Let's start here. Issue 1.....4.3.8......The sporting code states that all jumps being judged have to be displayed when they are being judged to the public.......so with that said.....the jury just admitted to violating that sporting code.....but I guess it's ok.....after all, it's just a sporting code. Please....correct me if I'm wrong..... Second.....4.7.1 Jury responsibilities.....Jury must be present during "competition activities". Apparently the act of judging a skydive is not considered a "competition activity". So there is no need to judge any more during a competition? Wow.....interesting.......I didn't realize that....but hey, they say you learn something new everyday......(sorry for the sarcasm.....this of course is my own PERSONAL opinion...and many other's opinions here as well) But please....someone correct me. Is the jury right here? The competitors had no one to file a protest with or go to when the judges told us that we would not be able to view the dives as they were being rejudged........hmmmm....... And for our final point......If the event judge deemed the video quality not judgeable....don't you think they would have brought up the issue when the first round 2 of judging occurred. If the event judge agreed that the quality was not adequate.....how in the world did they allow the judging to take place the first time around???? Was the event judge not doing their job......no, they were.....in fact they did manage to score the round and post the results....just like all of the other rounds. But some how, way after the fact...and after round 5 was complete (the second speed round) that event judge changed their mind and deemed the work they did a few days before had to be re-done......hmmmm...... Ok......enough of me ranting.....Please send me a note here and let me know if you think I'm insane or if you think we still have a good argument. Your opinion, of course, is always valued and appreciated. On another note.....THE EVENT IS COMPLETE!!!! Well.....not totally complete.....but the jumps are done. All 7 rounds have finished and we are still waiting to see the results from round 6 & 7 for that matter. AS SOON AS I KNOW....I'll post......but in the mean time.....let me know your thoughts on round 2. 7:34 PM Well.......here's the low down.......Women's freestyle: 1st - Japan, 2nd - Italy, 3rd - France. Congrats to you guys......On a side note, I was able to film outside camera for Japan on a training jump and they really do desire first place! Very much congrats!!! Freefly.....Let the image speak for itself.....
That's my story and I'm stickin to it! I was told the results would be posted on the Brazilian site later tonight......so if I don't see them in the AM I will post all the skysurf, freestyle and freefly. But tonight.....the music is blaring.....and I'm sitting on this PC...so no offense.....but I need a beer......wait....I don't drink.....hmm....maybe a good time to start....hey, when in Brazil........ Out from here tonight....but I'll post more tomorrow before the flight home in the PM.....tons more pics to post as well.....good times.....
