AE Bits Friday 17 September
OK.....if you looked up right now in Boituva, Brazil.....all you would see would be gray.....but it's a steady gray....so the plane is flying. On the other hand, MANY competitors have issues with the weather and are worried that their routines will be affected if the judges can't reference the horizon. So.........as I was typing this...the judges left it up to the competitors since the freefly rounds had yet to start.......after watching a freestyle routine that just landed.....everyone voted to go on a weather hold.
So that's where we're at.
While we were waiting this morning for weather to clear....I was able to get in a jump with the Aussie team manager Mark and Ronald Overdijk......
Yup.....he flies too! Who knew......
Also, a big congrats goes out to first time grandma Silvia Wagner.......I'm sure she would like to be back in Austria right now but instead she's toughing it out for the competition in Brazil! Thanks for that and congrats again......in fact....thanks to all of the judges....here's a shot for the books.....I guess Cypres had a few extra shirts....Hey ahhhh Cypres....you got any extra Cypres 2's????? I don't have one of those yet ;-) (wink wink) (hint hint) Boy it sure would be nice to have one of those (insert new cypres ad here) ahem.....but I digress.....check em out!

Results.....well...since Round 5 is complete and it's an elimitation round.....sounds like the amazing race or something.......I figure I will post the top 8 teams in both freefly and in womens freestyle.....I guess the other site still only has up to Round 3....I'll go work on em for all you fans out there......here goes:

Issues issues issues.....remember round 2? What's that you say......but we're almost on round 6.....I know..I know.....but the French still have issues with Round 2 and have filed a protest. It appears that they have complained that the TV monitor that was used to judge round 2 was not of ample quality......(what about the other rounds judged on it...hmmm....) So it has gone to the jury and they are saying that they are actually going to REJUDGE round 2. AFTER Round 5 has already been completed. TONS of teams have issues with this......we'll see what happens....here is the protest:
Woooo....have they every rejudged a round? This might set a dangerous precident......stay tuned.....
