AE Bits Thursday 16 September
Well, all of the teams are here and the first load to start round 4 is heading down to the loading area. Manifest is mixing skysurf and freestyle, completing all of the jumps for their rounds and then manifesting all of the freefly teams for their round until that is complete.....then onto the next round....hmmm....I wonder if that makes sense. Anywhoo.....Judges are still not here yet so there has been no update on the issues from the last round yesterday nor have any questions or concerns been submitted by any team yet. I think they are due here around 9 or so.....
In the mean time.....not sure if they are posted yet....but you can see some of the not so hot scores right here and on the main page for results. I hope they keep these pages up to date for everyone to see.....
Ok....while we're waiting I'm off to find out if they'll do a formation trike load ;-) Hey....you never know til ya ask right??????

Round 5 is about half way through and we are on a weather hold. Looks like most of the issues from the speed round yesterday have been address and the judges made another special sheet to emphasize what they are looking for and how to help avoid getting a bust on a point. Almost like the teams need to slow down and present the grips to the camera.....we'll see how this goes.... But there are always issues with what the judges see on a video and what the competitors see......but hey......not much you can do right now especially after the fact.
Anywhooo....right now everyone is in a holding pattern until we get this haze out of here. Some teams were doing spinning manovers where the cameraman flies with them around.....but with all of the haze you couldn't see the movement of the background underneath. No horizon....no cart-wheel. So it basically got to the point where several teams wouldn't get out of the aircraft because the haze was too thick and it would potentially affect the score......thus...we are on a weather hold.
I'll see if I can grab a few random pics from here and there and get them posted.

Here are the 2 postings made by the judges.....
Ok......not sure if this is posted yet on the results page...but let me give you a little update to some changes in the lead positions in both freefly and in freestyle. Round 5 is....well, almost compelte. But for some reason they posted the results that they have thus far.....
In freestyle womens.....Japan's Yoko and Alex have taken the lead over Italy's Stephania & Olav by 0.7. And in freefly, USA's Anomaly have jumped from 3rd to 2nd after they got 9 points and 0 busts on speed round 5. That gives then a 0.2 lead over 3rd....so they're still not out of the woods yet and only 1.8 away from the lead. Keep thinking good thoughts.....not that I'm biased or anything. ;-)
