09.09.04Is it here? Well, almost. The US Teams are all heading down to Brazil for the 2004 World Parachute Championships in Artistic Events. There has been a lot of chaos the past few weeks with teams dropping out for multiple reasons as well as the organizers of the event loosing sponsorship. The IPC has come through and helped the organizers secure a new dropzone in Brazil. So the events have moved from Brasilia to Skydive Boituva located just under 2 hours outside of Sao Paulo. So with a weeks notice everyone has had to change plane tickets, cancel hotels / rental cars, etc.......so yes, it's been a bit hectic. The US delegation should be on site this Saturday to start a few days of training and getting acclimated to their new environment. The even starts on the 14th with check in and registration on the 13th. Please check back here for updates on scores and more. Brian Buckland - freekfly.com Email Brian at Brian Buckland |
