7:30
a.m.
Tropical Storm Harvey is about to cross south- central Florida, and
we have teams getting on the airplane anyway under high overcast skies.
This is going to be an interesting day. At 8:30, we're mowing through
4-way as fast as we can, keeping our fingers crossed that Harvey will
stay to the south. Talk about a reversal of weather fortune! Today was
supposed to be such a washout, at least one team slept in and took a
zero for missing manifest call this morning! 9:30
a.m.
Round 3 of 4-way is completed (except for a rejump for 224), but it
looks like we're going to be on another weather hold for a while. We
actually had sunny skies for a couple hours, but low clouds are moving
in and it's getting breezy. Hmm...well now...Airspeed decided to make
things interesting by double-busting round 4, making it a tie with
Purple and FX three behind. 2:30 p.m.
Several hours on weather hold gave me a chance to fix my results
pages for you Netscape users; a stray layer tag had corrupted them
somewhere along the line. They should work better than ever now. The
skies have cleared again, and I hear planes taxiing. We may finish 4-way
minimums today! 4:30 p.m.
Okay the rain is like getting REALLY old...they have released 8-way
for the day, and most of the competitors are at the creeping pad having
an impromptu creeping contest.
5:30 p.m.
Moments ago, a strong gust of wind came through the area, and the
meet director responded by calling it a day. Start time is 0700
tomorrow; they will try to make minimums in 4-way and then go into
8-way.
